Media Coverage of the Security Sector in Lebanon
The Skeyes Center for Media and Cultural Freedom launched, on Monday December 7, a report prepared by Maharat foundation on “Media Coverage of the security sector in Lebanon” under a joint program that aims at building capacity of journalists in covering sensitive issues.
In its first section, this study reviews the communication mechanisms adopted by the Lebanese security and military institutions in dealing with media and the audience.
In its second section, the study reviews quantitative and qualitative analysis of printed and audio visual media coverage of security and military institutions’ work.
Skeyes has organized a workshop about “Media Coverage of LGBT Issues in Lebanon” topic. This workshop was held from January 23 to 25, 2015 in collaboration with Thomson foundation, the World Press and Democracy Center (US), and Maharat foundation.
