Stemming from a roundtable with journalists who covered the 2025 IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, in addition to economic and financial experts; this report examines the challenges of covering international meetings and outlines practical strategies to strengthen economic reporting in Lebanon.
It emphasizes the media’s role in reframing reform demands, explaining the nature of international support, and shifting the narrative from donor-driven expectations to locally owned solutions for recovery and financial sustainability.
The report also highlights obstacles such as access to information, editorial constraints, and the lack of media independence, while offering tips to help journalists improve their coverage. In today’s complex environment, accurate, contextual, and economically grounded journalism is more critical than ever for supporting Lebanon’s reform path.
