Call for Applications – Training on Mental Health and Psychological Safety for Journalists
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Beirut Press Freedom Center, in partnership with IDRAAC and Maharat Foundation, are organizing a new training and awareness program focused on mental health and psychological safety for journalists and media professionals.
These sessions will take place at the RSF Beirut Press Freedom Center (Ashrafieh, Beirut).
This initiative aims to support journalists’ well-being by offering practical tools and knowledge to manage stress, trauma, and high-pressure situations, especially for those working in crisis and conflict environments.
This questionnaire is designed to help us tailor the program to better meet participants’ needs, and to identify those interested in taking part, based on the responses provided.
What could be included in the program?
- A 1-hour online awareness session on general mental health
- A 1-day in-person training (modeled after Maharat’s previous program)
- 2-hour interactive sessions, where journalists will vote to prioritize one of the following topics:
* Preparation for high-risk situations in conflict regions
*PTSD management for reporters
*Psychological first aid for journalists covering crises
Interested journalists are invited to complete the questionnaire and we will be contacting you based on your selected preferences.
