MAHARAT Foundation and the UNESCO Regional Bureau in Beirut organized a press conference to launch the annual report on the “Freedom of Opinion and Expression” for the year 2008. The conference took place on Thursday May 7, 2009 at the UNESCO office in Bir Hassan, Beirut and was attended by the Lebanese Minister of Information, Mr. Tarek Mitri and a large group of journalists, legal experts and concerned public.

During the conference, the annual report on the “Freedom of Opinion and Expression” for the year 2008 was launched. The report shed the light on the Violations and abuses of the media outlets and media personnel in the year 2008.
